The Saint Andrew Society (Glasgow)

The Society was founded in 1854 as the Glasgow Saint Andrew Society to foster knowledge and appreciation of Scotlands cultural heritage, then refounded in 1910/12 to organise talks, concerts, social events and visits for the same purpose.

So why join?

This is a friendly organisation which arranges around a dozen meetings each year, including a summer bus outing, our annual dinner, a wine and cheese musical evening, a concert, several other local visits, an annual lecture and a theatre outing. all these events are run on a break-even basis obtaining block discounts where applicable.

For more details on how to join the Society you can contact the membership secretary

We also run our own Charitable Trust which sponsors young musicians in Scotland and makes a number of grants to people and organisations contributing to the welfare and heritage of Scotland.
We believe firmly in the original objectives of the Society but at the same time aim to create a friendly sociable atmosphere at our meetings and lay on events which are enjoyable as well as instructive.
The subscription at £12 per annum represents very good value.
